When Illinois adopted new ELA standards, teachers were forced to make shifts in their instructional practices. These shifts were necessary in teaching these new standards for student mastery. Nine years after the adoption of the new standards, they are no longer shifts. These instructional changes should be common practices throughout classrooms
This workshop will take a deep dive into the ELA standards. Instructional practices and student-focused learning strategies will be reviewed. Participants will leave with new ideas and instructional practices aligned to the Illinois ELA Standards.
