According to the National Center for Education Statistics, an average of 9 percent of students in U.S. public schools are English Language Learners (ELLs). Many of these students spend their school day in the mainstream classrooms well before they have proficient English language skills.
If you’re like most classroom teachers, you have little to no training in the most effective methods for working with ELLs (Walker, Shafer, & Iiams, 2004). Come spend the day learning effective, research-based strategies you can implement in your classroom for ELLs. Participants will be surprised to learn that the most effective strategies for ELLs are also the most effective strategies for ALL students!
Note:Refunds will be issued only to participants who call the ROE office to cancel (5) working days before the date of the program. BHS ROE CO-OP participants will be charged if they do not follow this same cancelation procedure.
