The Illinois Learning Standards are more rigorous than standards of the past. In order for students to meet the standards, classroom instruction needs to mirror the rigor of the standards in teaching practices and student tasks. To say you have rigorous curriculum, one must be able to define rigor, have deep knowledge of the learning standards and create standards-based curriculum.
This workshop is must for all teachers who want to start the 2020-21 school year off right. Come learn about rigor, the standards and student tasks aligned to Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR).
This workshop will be offered remotely. Completion of this online workshop experience will result in 4 hours of professional learning. To receive these hours, you must attend the workshop online via ZOOM, on July 14th, 2020, from 9:00-11:00 AM. Then, you must agree to complete a reflection “homework assignment” following the online portion of the workshop. The two hours of online learning and the completed “assignment” will equal 4 hours of professional learning hours.
