#12237 ” The Learning Pit”

Simply put, “The Learning Pit “is an analogy for learning. “The Learning Pit represents a challenge. Taking on a challenge is like getting into a pit. We may feel uncertain and it takes effort to climb out. When we do climb out, it means we’ve learned something new”

(Anderson, 2018).

About four  years ago, I overheard some educators talking about James Nottigan’s  “Learning Pit”.  Since hearing about this learning concept, I have been spent time digging deeper so I can share with others. Come spend the day as we focus on creating and implementing challenging lessons that take students to the pit and through the multiple stages of learning that promote growth mindset.

Each participant will receive a copy of John Nottigan’s book, The Learning Challenge: How to Guide Your Students Through the Learning Pit to Achieve Deeper Understanding.

Note:Refunds will be issued only to participants who call the ROE office to cancel (5) working days before the date of the program. BHS ROE CO-OP participants will be charged if they do not follow this same cancelation procedure.
