In our data-driven world, students must learn to critically analyze data
and make predictions in real world situations. In addition, Illinois Computer
Science Standards place an emphasis on Data Analysis, and Problem
Solving/Data Analysis makes up 29% of a student’s SAT Math score. The
good news is that data analysis can be FUN! Teachers in this workshop will
explore the accuracy of data in informational texts, collect data relevant
to their subject area, and analyze data in a variety of contexts. Time will
be set aside to design lessons that can be used in the classroom.
