Twenty-seven area teacher participated in Smart Grid training on Wednesday night at the ROE. The Smart Grid for Schools program offers schools the opportunity for students to learn about the new Smart Grid technology currently being rolled out by the utilities companies in your area. This program engages K-12 students with Smart Grid in a fun, hands-on way and incorporates Next Generation Science Standards. The new Construction Set includes the Smart Grid System and Smart Homes! Curriculum is designed to captivate young minds with hands-on activities and experiments to explore electric utility strategy and planning. Teacher training is required, and there is a stipend for attending the training. After training, you can schedule the Construction Set exhibits to visit your classroom for two weeks to allow ample time to cover the lessons.
