Vocabulary serves as the foundation for everything students do in school. From reading to writing to speaking and even listening, students must possess an extensive vocabulary if they are to excel in any subject. Despite this, vocabulary instruction is one of the most convoluted practices in education today.
Come spend a day with Charles Williams as he seamlessly merges various approaches to intentional vocabulary instruction including choosing the right vocabulary terms to teach, decoding vocabulary regardless of use, and ensuring vocabulary retention. This hands-on session will walk its participants through all of the stages necessary for successful vocabulary instruction in the classroom and provide attendees with tools and resources that they can begin implementing right away.
Note:Refunds will be issued only to participants who call the ROE office to cancel (5) working days before the date of the program. BHS ROE CO-OP participants will be charged if they do not follow this same cancelation procedure.
