This fun and creative sculpture class applies to educational studies well beyond the art room. Participants will learn clean and easy paper mache techniques from an artist-educator who specializes in the media. David Smith has won many awards for his sculptures that are usually created with a strong message or story background. Each workshop participants will make a paper mache “critter” which leads itself in the development if a creative narrative. This workshop has applications to all grade levels and many different curricular areas of study. This educational opportunity is a marvelous resource for schools with limited access to visual art specialist or any funding, as the sculptures that are created are made 90% of recycled materials.
