An increasing body of data suggests an appreciable percentage of inappropriate behavior in schools, may be due to the influence of drugs and alcohol. The data suggests the average professional educator will almost inevitably encounter impaired individuals who are disruptive to the learning process. It is important for the educator to be able to recognize signs and symptoms of drug use. The purpose of this training is to provide school administrators, teachers, and nurses with information to observe and articulate individuals who are using drugs, in order to provide early intervention and ensure a safe learning environment.
