The Purpose:

ISBE’s and CTE Illinois’s Cross-Sector Essential Employability Skills (or Essential Skills) is a list of skills we can use as a guide to ensure that our students are ready for college and the workforce. Skills are grouped into the categories of Working with Others, the Thought Process, and Self-Regulation. In this workshop, we will discuss ways to focus on and encourage the development of these essential skills in our classrooms, leading to better-prepared students and a higher quality of instruction in our content areas.
