The Purpose:
Come join us for a fascinating day of brain science! Like an engine or a computer, the human brain works most efficiently under certain circumstances. Learn easy-to-use tools for improving memory storage, avoiding cognitive overload, increasing executive functioning, and decreasing anxiety. Research-based practices such as cognitive load theory, explicit instruction, and schema-based learning will be discussed, and teachers will leave with simple strategies they can start using in their classroom immediately to increase student learning.
