What is Comprehensible Input? Comprehensible input was developed by the linguist Dr. Steven Krashen for second language acquisition. The hypothesis focuses on making language learning meaningful through comprehensible input to facilitate language learning. According to Dr. Krashen, choice in reading and writing is preferred over prescribed behaviorist methods. Dr. Krashen’s hypothesis is aligned with the constructivist approach.
