  1. Be able to clearly distinguish between participation and true cognitive engagement by identifying the thinking process students demonstrate during learning
  2. Apply principles to intentionally plan lessons and classroom interactions that increase curiosity, questioning, and student ownership of learning, and
  3. Will implement strategies in their classroom and reflect on their impact on student engagement and thinking behaviors.
