Early Childhood Birth – 3

Early Childhood Birth - 3

The Bureau Henry Stark Regional Office of Education offers services to expecting mothers or families in the three county area with children birth to 3 years old using a curriculum called Parents As Teachers. This child development and school readiness program offers home visits, group connections, developmental screenings, and resource connections.

During the home visits, Parent Educators bring age appropriate learning activities and books, provide parent and family support, and discuss various child development topics.

Group Connections are offered once a month and cover a wide array of topics. Past group events include cooking, holiday parties, mommy and me swim, swimming safety, story time, and outdoor adventures.

Developmental screenings are offered every 6 months. The screenings are completed using the Ages and Stages screening tool.

Parent Educators have partnered with many community organizations to connect our families to resources such as education, job opportunities, housing, health care providers, and government aide.

Anyone who would like to know more about the program should contact a Parent Educator at the Regional Office of Education at 309-936-7890.
