8-1-24—#12772 Learning to Write vs. Writing to Learn

Date: August 1, 2024

When teaching students to write, there should always be two goals. The first goal is to teach students how to write (learning to write) and the second goal is to teach students how to use writing to learn content (writing to learn). While it is often assumed that the job of teaching students writing belongs to English Language Arts teachers, all content teachers should use writing to learn strategies!
Come learn how to effectively use both learning to write and writing to learn instructional practices effectively so that students acquire all the skills needed in order to become GREAT writers.
